■ The little things in life count
身の周りに気の利く人はいますか?
家庭や職場、学校。
誰も気づかないような小さなことでも、
事がスムーズに運ぶように、気持ちよく過ごせるために
何かしてくれる人、いませんか?

Think about a considerate, generous, friendly person,
why are they so nice? May be it is because they do
'little' things that make your life easier and more
convenient. These kind of people do things such as
prepare the drinks at work, clean your desk, prepare
your work information, etc. Sadly, these kind of people
can sometimes be overlooked (not noticed or ignored).
They should be recognized (acknowledged, thanked)
for their ability to be able to organize the 'little' things
in our life. A very good expression to use is
'the little things in life count'. This expression is useful
to describe your gratefulness (appreciation) for others.
So, the people we work with and the families we have all
do little things that make our life better. These little
things are positive points. Remember, it's 'the little
things in life that count!' (meaning it's the little things
that matter and are important, not just the big things).
Conversation example:
A. 'I've made your lunch for you.'
B. 'Thanks very much, that was nice of you.'
A. 'It's no problem, I like helping you.'
B. 'I appreciate the little things you do for me, it saves time.'
A. 'It's really no trouble at all.'
B. 'Well, it's the little things in life that count!"
*Use this expression when you want to show your
appreciation for someone's efforts. It can be used in
everyday situations. It is an everyday expression,
not a business expression.*
