What gets on your goat? This means what annoys
you or irritates you? Some people have trivial
(small, unimportant) things that annoy them or
upset them. For example, some people get
annoyed by noisy neighbors, or some people get
upset about the bad weather. They can use this
expression to show their upset, by saying: 'It

Can you add more things that get on people's
goat or annoy you personally? I am sure it is
an endless list! I wonder if different cultures
have varied ideas of what gets on people's
goat? It seems like Japanese people have a
high tolerance (patience) for annoying things,
why? For instance, in Australia one of the
major things that gets on people's goat is
using umbrellas when it rains. Australians
are annoyed with umbrellas. But in Japan,
this does not seem to annoy people.
