Idiom: When it rains it pours
今日はイディオム「when it rains it pours」を
学びましょう。
日本語で言うと「降れば土砂降り」
「2度あることは3度ある」と同じ様な意味で
悪いことは重なる、という事ですね。

When it rains it pours means that many things
go wrong at one time. Have you ever had a bad
day and it seemed like everything went wrong?
This idiom is a great one to use when you
experience a bad day. For example, your alarm
clock doesn't wake you up, so you're late for work.
Then you get to work and you realize you forgot
to bring your watch. While you're at work you
find out you have to do extra overtime, but you
already made a date with your best friend to go
out for dinner! So you phone your best friend at
work and he/she gets really mad with you for
cancelling the dinner date. Finally, you finish your
busy work and miss the train. Eventually you get
another train, but suddenly there's an earthquake
and the train has to stop. You end up waiting for
over 30 minutes. When you get to your home
station it suddenly begins to rain, you have no
umbrella and you get very wet. I hope you try to
use 'when it rains it pours' idiom, it is a fun way
to describe a bad day! Remember, it doesn't
have to rain for you to use this idiom.
