More body parts expressions for fun!

前回の体の一部を使っての表現の続編です。
まだまだあります。

Body part expressions are fun
- enjoy using some of these for all types
of daily situations.

＊「jump out of one's skin」=心臓が飛び出るほど驚く
He jumped out of his skin during the storm
=He got so scared during the storm

＊「wear one's heart on one's sleeve」=心の内を素直に話す
He wears his heart on his sleeve all the time
=He is always showing his deep emotions/feelings

＊「have a finger in every pie」=首を突っ込む、干渉する
He has a finger in every pie
=He is involved in many activities/jobs, etc

＊「have itchy feet」=外へ出歩きたくなる、旅行好きである
She has itchy feet
=She wants to move somewhere new
or do something different

＊「have one's hands full」=手が一杯である
She has her hands full now that she has a new baby
=She is now very busy with her new baby
(this can be used for a different situation, such as a job)

＊「pick one's brain」=〜に相談に乗ってもらう、アドバイスをもらう
He wants to pick her brains
=He wants to get information from her to help himself
(this used in a negative way when someone
asks too many questions)

＊「blood, sweat and tears」=血と汗と涙
She worked blood, sweat and tears all summer
on the project
=She worked very hard on the project
(this can be used for any situation where
someone works very hard)

「have a finger in every pie」という表現は面白いですね。
日本では「首を突っ込む」と言いますが、英語では
全てのパイに指を突っ込む…。外国らしい響きです。
