ここからは講師クリスティーナの感想です。
We have all witnessed the first African American
president to be elected in American politics.
How did you feel when you watched Obama's
speech? The overall feeling here at Bella from
the majority of the teachers was happiness.
Both Ryan and James were very happy!
Although I'm not American, I am thrilled that
Obama won. It is an incredible feeling to see
history in the making. Over the past twenty
years there have been many political elections,
but this particular election with Obama and
McCain has been the most exciting one! If my
grandfather was alive today he would be
shocked at how the world has changed within
the last twenty years. So no matter what
happens in the future, Obama will always be
remembered for being the first African
American president. American politics has
become more important due to the financial
crisis. The world now waits for the solutions
from the new President-elect, Obama. I think
it will be a tough time for him, but he seems to
have the staying power that is needed to
survive in the political arena.
History in the making=歴史が塗り替えられる瞬間
=To see something for the first time become history
Solution=解決
=To solve/help a problem, such as the financial crisis
Crisis=危機= Very bad
Staying power=持久力=The ability and strength to
be able to manage yourself and others during
a difficult time and not give up
Political arena=政界=Political place where strong,
political activity happens
President-elect=大統領当選者=A person has been voted president,
but not officially made president yet
