Pointing and Calling - top business gestures
指さし、合図確認。
これが実は安全のために非常に有効なんだそうです。

Interestingly, pointing and calling has been a big
part of industries and businesses in Japan for
decades. There are special programs that teach
on-the-job gestures to help stop accidents.
For years I have been intrigued about the
Japanese Railway workers and their pointing
and calling. Much to my relief, there was a
recent article about this in the local newspaper
which explained the history of Japanese
railway gestures very well. Apparently,
Japanese railway employees have been using
the simple technique of pointing and calling
for over 100 years. The good news is that
pointing and calling has helped to minimize
85% of mistakes on the job. The philosophy
behind this technique is that the brain works
faster if people speak and use gestures on
the job while working at the railway stations.
The sad news is it took me 8 years to discover
this information!
decade=10年
