「Nothing new under the sun」は
代わり映えがしない、大した違いはないという
意味を持ちます。
流行は繰り返すと言いますが、ファッションや音楽、

Every generation imagines that their fashion,
music, taste for food and love of travel and
entertainment is something extra special or
even different from generations gone. But in
reality, there is nothing new under the sun
about all of those things. Often we see fashion
repeating itself from the 1970s or 1980s designs.
We see broadway shows that have been famous
for decades, or hear music that was sung 30
years ago, but now revamped by a different
music band. We imagine that traveling abroad
is something our parents or even grandparents
would never have dreamed of doing. We even
think that eating at fancy restaurants is only
popular now. But of all of these interesting
things are nothing original. In fact, our parents
wanted to experience them too! We even think
each culture is completely different, but there
are similarities in language and thinking. Human
nature does not change, only each generation.

=a very old expression used to describe that things
don't change and things are never totally original or
different.

Revamp=改革する、改造する
= a key word used to describe something that
has been renewed.
Fancy=しゃれた、豪華な
=a word to express extra sophisticated, mainly
for French Restaurants, etc.
