Off to a flying start

今日のフレーズは
「off to a flying start」
４月の新生活に向けて、ぴったりの言葉です。

「off to - 　start」で「〜なスタートを切る」という意味。
今回は「flying」を入れてみましょう。
日本語でも「フライング」と言いますが
同じように先だって出発するという意味になります。
「flying」の他にも形容詞が入ります。
「good」や「ominous」を入れても良いですね。

A great expression to use when you have
an advantage over others. For example,
when you begin a new class and you have
experience in the subject already, you can
be described as being 'off to a flying start.'
This means that you have a good start to
something new. It's very positive to be
off to a flying start in any given situation.

何か新しい事を始める前に、一歩先にスタートしておく。
新学期が始まる前に予習しておいたり、
新しいプロジェクトが始まる前にリサーチをしておく。
前もって準備しておけば、余裕と自信が出てきますね。

If you go to a sports gym and have some
knowledge of how to do the set exercises
you could say that you're off to a flying start.
When Americans landed on the moon for
the first time the world thought they were
off to a flying start, as they had an
advantage of understanding, knowledge of
space and experience in flying to the moon.

大学時代に簡単なコードを習っていたので
ちょっとした「off to a flying start」になりました。
