シェークスピアは英語の古典。
英語圏の国でも、学校で習う程難しいようですね。
今日はシェークスピアが作った英語を
Craigが紹介してくれます。

William Shakespeare wrote many plays
back in the 1500's. However, in those days
he didn't think there were enough good words
in the English language for him to express
himself in his tragedies and comedies, so
Shakespeare simply made up many words.
He made up over 1000 words! Surprisingly,
many of these words became popular and
are now still used.

Some everyday words that people say
Shakespeare made up are:
bedroom, bump, educate, excitement,
fashionable, gossip, hint, hurry, lonely

Wow! I couldn't imagine not having these
words! What did people use to say instead?

今でもよく使われる英単語を作ったのがシェイクスピア！
日本人にもなじみ深い人物なだけに、
シェイクスピアが作ったと言われると覚えられそうです。
上記単語だけではなく、これから出てくる単語も
普段よく使われますので、是非覚えてみて下さい。

which we still commonly use in English.

bump=隆起、段差
invent=発明する
glitters=輝き
